Treatment Options
Some lifestyle changes may be possible to help you sleep better at night. Your sleep clinic dentist will be able to recommend any changes that could help improve your sleeping habits.
At Palermo Village Dental, we offer many treatments to help you sleep comfortably and restfully thourhgout the night.
CPAP
The continuous positive airwar pressure device (CPAP) helps to open the throat to reduce snoring and increase breathing throughout the night. The CPAP is a face mask that is worn throughout the night that provides positive air flow to keep the airways open while you sleep.
Oral Appliance Therapy
Oral appliances are an alternative sleep aid to the CPAP machine. There are many different types of oral appliances available that look similar to a mouthguard athletes wear while playing sports. These appliances promote the opening of the airway to provide a better night’s sleep.
Solea Sleep
The Solea Sleep laser can treat palatal snoring, the cause for snoring in about 80% of people who snore. Solea uses a specific wavelength, tightening collagen fibres in the soft palate tissue using a laser in one 5-minute session. Tightening the tissue helps to open the airway and reduce vibrations from snoring.
