Fast, Effective Diagnostic Dental Imaging
Comfortable, quality care that fits your schedule is just as important to us as they are to you. That’s why, when an x-ray is required as part of your dental care, we use CBCT imaging to do it quickly and effectively.
Dental CBCT (cone-beam computed tomography) is an x-ray machine that rotates around the patient in a single scan. From this one brief pass, our CBCT scanner creates a comprehensive 3D image of your teeth, soft tissue, bones, face, and neck, allowing us to diagnose and treat a range of conditions.
Why Use CBCT for X-Rays?
Your oral health is much more than what we see when we look in your mouth. A comprehensive CBCT scan allows us to detect issues around your mouth, face, and nasal cavity. Plus, the scan takes only about 20–40 seconds.
With the 3D image from the scan, we can plan a treatment strategy customized to your needs, including:
- Planning surgery for impacted teeth
- Evaluating the jaw
- Planning TMJ therapy
- Planning placement for dental implants
- Identifying infections
- Assessing potential causes of a sleep disorder
- Detecting tumours
- Detecting fractures
